Arcus Design Group – Architects, Inc. was formed in 1987 by principals Jeffrey G. Balch, AIA, LEED AP; Carl E. Holden, AIA, LEED AP; and Christian H. McQuail, AIA, LEED AP. They sought a stronger connection to the architectural projects, clients, and end-users for which they were designing. The firm’s name was chosen from the Latin word arcus, defined as the strongest or most triumphal in a series of arches. The founding partners feel the term exemplifies the spirit of their collaborative practice and strength of their commitment to their clients. In 2000, Paul J. Salvaggio, AIA, LEED AP, was named the fourth principal leading residential design.
After 25 years in practice, Arcus has built a portfolio of referral and repeat-client work. Architectural designs are recognized for establishing companies’ identities, positively impacting clients’ planning flexibility, and enhancing homeowners’ lifestyles. The firm’s work has earned local, regional, and international awards for design excellence, preservation, and planning.
